About Us
We have been in business since 1977 and have developed into an internationally respected firm, with a large inventory of rare books, antique maps, antique prints, and modern books on art, architecture, and the decorative arts (239 King St. East). Although we carry old and rare books in all fields, we are particularly interested in early printed books, voyages and travels, Canadiana/Americana, and illustrated books. A large portion of our book inventory is accessible for viewing on this website and can be searched by title, author, or keyword....Since the1990s, we have maintained a second location (1199 Yonge St.), where we hold regular exhibitions of Canadian art. Our inventory of Canadian art has quickly developed into one of the finest in the country, and we maintain an extensive inventory spanning the nineteenth century, Canadian Impressionism, the Group of Seven, and post-war Canadian art.
Our third location in Toronto (1177 Yonge St., Units 8-9) is just around the corner from our 1199 Yonge street store.
We present all of our material on a scholarly basis, and all items are guaranteed to be authentic and as described. We are members of the Antiquarian Bookdealers Association of Canada, which in turn is affiliated with the International League of Antiquarian Bookdealers.
Over the years we have contributed to the building of many important private, institutional, and corporate collections in the fields in which we deal. We act as agents and consultants, bid on behalf of clients at auction, and provide appraisal services.
We issue periodic online catalogues as well as printed catalogues on a number of different subjects. If you would like to receive our catalogues or mailings for exhibitions, please contact us and indicate your specific interests.
Buying
We are always interested in purchasing collections or individual items of merit in the areas in which we specialize, and are prepared to travel to view material and arrange for shipment.
