The text is somewhat abridged, and meteorological tables are omitted in the appendix. Wrangel commanded the Kolymskaya expedition sent to complete the official survey of the north Siberian coast eastward from Kolyma River, and to explore for new land northward in the East Siberian Sea. His narrative includes a short history of former Russian explorations and discoveries in the Siberian arctic. Wrangel was Governor of the Russian colony of Alaska from 1829 to 1835, and a director of the Russian-American Company from 1840 to 1849. Arctic Bib. 18994. Howes E-151 [vide ENGELHARDT].
